WHITE MARSH, Md.TICAmulsion®, from TIC Gums, received regulatory approval from the European Union as an additive for flavor-oil emulsions and other food products.

Regulations were amended to include OSA modified gum arabic as an authorized food additive on Aug. 28, allowing the use of TICAmulsion in the European market. TICAmulsion provides stability in high oil load emulsions, allowing flavor concentrate manufacturers to create high oil load emulsions of up to 40% for increased production. The product is classified as "non-GMO" in accordance with the European Commission labeling requirements.

Earlier this year, TIC Gums showed manufacturers how to lower costs on expensive ingredients (in this case cream and milk) by offering texture and stability solutions for sauces at the Research Chefs Association Annual Conference and Culinology Expo in Charlotte, N.C.
