SWINDON, England—Pectin may protect against cancer, according to a new study published in the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB) Journal. Researchers found that galactan side-chain, a fragment release from pectin, may bind and inhibit galectin 3 (Gal3), a protein linked to cancer progression.
