NAPLES, Fla.--Saw Palmetto Berries Co-op of Florida announced a strategic alliance with Custom Analytics LLC to exclusively use its proprietary method of HPLC and standardized GC test methods for its saw palmetto products.
Custom Analytics developed the HPLC assay exclusively for Saw Palmetto Berries Co-op to measure the free fatty acid (FFA) content of saw palmetto oil. The procedure provides a more accurate measure of FFA content compared to GC method, according to the companies. High-quality saw palmetto oils have FFA content in excess of 80 percent, they added.
