BioCell Collagen Receives U.S. Patent

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) awarded BioCell Technologies with a patent (No. 8,563,045) regarding its BioCell Collagen ingredient. The company's sixth patent covers the use of the ingredient in multiple ingestible and topical applications, in addition to claims pertaining to molecular composition, molecular weight and manufacturing method.

BioCell Collagen combines hydrolyzed collagen type II, chondroitin sulfate and hyaluronic acid (HA). The ingredient has demonstrated benefits for joints, tendons and ligaments; in 2013, a study published in Clinical Interventions in Aging found supplementation with with BioCell Collagen® reduced visible signs of aging in the face as well as dermal aging parameters.
