Collagen Nutraceuticals Receives U.S. Patent

LAKE FOREST, Calif.CollagenNutraceuticals was granted U.S. Patent No. 6,838,440 for the method and use ofits patented chicken sternum cartilage collagen Type II (kolla2®) in thetreatment of arthritic joint cartilage diseases. The patent covers the processof producing kolla2 to retain high amounts of hyaluronic acid (HA), chondroitin,glucosamine and collagen Type II. Collagen Nutraceuticals noted further research studies by MarcDarrow, Ph.D., at the Joint Rehabilitation and Sports Medical Center in LosAngeles have shown positive results using kolla2, and he is devising anadditional study using the product.
