CRN, Virgo Producing New Webinars

WASHINGTON & PHOENIXThe Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) and Virgo Publishing will jointly offer three new Webinars in 2010, with the first oneDietary Supplement Safety: Understanding the Role of Adverse Event Reports in Product Recallsset for Thursday, May 6, from 2 to 4 p.m. EDT.
This webinar, moderated by Duffy MacKay, N.D., vice president, scientific and regulatory affairs, CRN, will provide attendees with a basic understanding of the role of a corporate post-market safety surveillance system that includes adverse event reporting to meet mandatory FDA reporting requirements. A panel of regulatory expertsRick Kingston, Pharm.D., president, SafetyCall International; Patrick Revelle, director, MedDRA MSSO; James Neal Kababick, director, Flora Research Labs; and Bob Moore, Ph.D., Center For Science & Nutrition, FDAwill provide participants with new insights on adverse event reporting, including the type and scope of information collected, how that information is reviewed and analyzed, and how to both prevent and handle a product recall.
The registration fee$149 per Webinar for CRN members and $199 per webinar for non-membersis a per registration site fee, meaning multiple people may participate in the Webinar from a single site, such as a companys conference room. This fee also includes unlimited access to the on-demand recording of the webinar for 90 days. In addition, a promotional discount of $25 will be offered to participants taking more than one CRN/Virgo webinar in 2010. Registration details for the first Webinar are available online.
These webinars mark a continuation of a Webinar partnership between CRN and Virgo that began in 2007. The second and third webinars for 2010 will take place Aug. 3 and Nov. 4, with topics and speakers still to be determined.
