Enzymotec: K-REAL is Clear of Aker's Aussie Patents

MIGDAL HAEMEQ, IsraelEnzymotec Inc. has assured its customers the company's K-REAL branded krill ingredient does not violate Aker's recently awarded Australian patents covering krill oil and certain extraction methods. In declaring its own krill ingredient clear of the patents, Enymotec relied on analysis from its own experts as well as third party consultants.

"Based on thoroough assessment on the patent claims...we have concluded that there is no infringement of any of the claims of the new innovation patents," said Boaz Noy, VP of Enzymotec's BioActive Ingredients Division. He said the message to Enzymotec customers is clear: Enzymotec will continue to defend its leading position in this market and will support its customers. "Our goals are to continue and invest resources in supporting our rapid growth both through capacity expansion, human clinical trials and new innovative products. We are certain these consistent actions will lead to further establishing of our KREAL products and the superior quality and potency of our krill oil obtained through our exclusive MSO technology."
