Kalsec Files U.S. Patent Application on ZeaGold

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Kalsec® Inc. filed a patent application, “Capsicum variety exhibiting a hyperaccumulation of zeaxanthin and products derived therefrom”, covering its ZeaGold™ zeaxanthin. The patent application describes a novel paprika variety and the plant breeding techniques used to produce it. It also pertains to the use of ZeaGold (www.zeagold.com) in applications including dietary supplements, foods, functional foods, cosmetics, animal feeds, aquaculture feeds and pharmaceuticals.
