Kaneka Files Patent Infringement Suit

LOS ANGELES Kaneka Corp., Osaka, Japan, filed a patent infringement lawsuit in U.S. District Court, Central District of California, against Nanjing, China-based Sinochem Jiangsu Co. Ltd. and its Houston-based U.S. office, Sinochem American Holdings Inc. The lawsuit accuses the Sinochem companies of infringing Kanekas U.S. patent (No. 7,145,044) related to the production and sale of reduced coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), known as ubiquinol. Kaneka sells ubiquniol as KanekaQH through Kaneka Nutrients LP, Pasadena, Texas.
