Keratec Receives U.S. Patent

CHRISTCHURCH, New Zealand—Keratec Ltd. received a U.S. patent (No. 7,148,327) covering the manufacturing process behind its Functional Keratin™ range of personal care and medical products and technologies. Keratec (www.keratec.co.nz) extracts keratin from wool in New Zealand laboratories, using a proprietary extract method to deliver keratin protein in a soluble form with its natural functionality intact. The technology covered in the patent was developed by a team led by Keratec’s founding scientist, Rob Kelly, Ph.D.
