Martek, Capsugel Settle Patent Lawsuit

COLUMBIA, Md. Martek Biosciences Corp. announced the resolution of a patent infringement lawsuit filed in the High Court of Strasbourg, France, against Capsugel France. As a result of the settlement, Capsugel and all of its affiliates agreed to purchase all of their algal docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) exclusively from Martek for the life of the patent in question. In addition, Martek and Capsugel will develop a product containing Marteks algal DHA in Capsugels proprietary Licaps® liquid-filled hard capsules.
