Nutrastar Files for Patent on Golden Grass

HARBIN, ChinaNutrastar International Inc. (OTCBB: NUIN) filed a patent application covering the production process for its Golden Grass wine and oral liquids. Derived from Cordyceps militaris, a parasitic fungus found in Northeastern China, Chinese Golden Grass was used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to support the lungs and kidneys. According to the company, it currently holds 19 percent of the world market for cultivated Chinese Golden Grass.

According to Nutrastar, the company invested heavily in R&D to develop techniques necessary to produce liquid versions of the Golden Grass products, which offer substantial growth potential in the TCM market. Trial production is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2011.
