BALTIMORE—FreePatentsOnline.com (FPO) announced a partnership with SureChem Inc. to provide free chemical searching, drawing from data across the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (U.S. PTO), European and World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) data collections, encompassing nearly 9 million unique chemical structures.
“We are very excited to announce our partnership with SureChem and offer a truly unprecedented free service,” said Erik Reeves, CEO, FPO. “Chemical search is a field in which users are accustomed to paying substantial fees and we are shaking things up with this new feature.”
Through SureChem Free, users can search nearly 9 million unique structures extracted from the full text of U.S., European and WIPO patents and applications, including prophetic, excluded and other compounds not covered by manually-curated databases. Searches can be performed using textual or graphical representations of chemical structures including full chemical structure, substructure, structural similarity, chemical name and weekly data updates.
“FreePatentsOnline has become the destination of choice for both casual and professional patent searchers worldwide, so it makes the perfect platform to launch the world’s first free chemical search service, as well as a great way to introduce new users to the power of SureChem Pro,” said Michael Faust, CEO, SureChem. In addition, FPO and SureChem will be integrating SureChem Pro with advanced patent search tools that will soon be available through the SumoBrain brand.
