Aker BioMarine Receives Grant for Research on Superba Krill

OSLO, NorwayThe Research Council of Norways Food Programme awarded a three-year, NOK 8 million (US$1.4 million) research grant to Aker BioMarine to support further scientific studies on the companys Superba krill products. The Council serves as an advisory body on research policy issues, identifying research needs and recommending national priorities in Norway. Aker BioMarine received funds from its User-driven Innovation Projects (BIP), targeted at companies with ambitious research programs that demonstrate quality, innovation and scientific depth.
The research grant allows us to further intensify our ambitious pre-clinical and clinical research on Superba Krill, said Dr. Hogne Vik, Aker BioMarines executive vice president of documentation. We have been extremely pleased with the results we have seen in our research so far, and this grant contributes to even better documentation for Superba Krill.
