Croda Expands Plant Capacity

EAST YORKSHIRE, EnglandCroda Health Care has more than doubled its manufacturing capacity of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids by opening a new facility in Staffs, England. The new plant was built to pharmaceutical standards and employs advanced production technologies in its development of pharmaceutical-grade lipid concentrates.

In North America, Croda products are exclusively distributed by Bioriginal Food & Science Corp., based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Crodas increased expansion will allow us to offer even more of the highest-quality omega-3 oils to health and nutrition distributors across North America, said Joe Vidal, chief operating officer at Bioriginal (www.bioriginal.com). The recently approved health claim regarding omega-3s reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease has generated much media attention and created more consumer demand.
