SAN DIEGO, Calif.Royal DSM, a global science company specializing in health and nutrition products, recently opened its new enzyme, oils and fats unit office and laboratory in San Diego.

The new facility supports DSM's business in sustainable enzyme-based solutions for the oil seed crushing and refining industry. DSM acquired certain assets of a San Diego biotech company, including Purifine® enzyme technology a year ago and applications from other laboratories that are now integrated into this new facility.

Last February, DSM  increased its price for fish-based omega-3 products by at least 15 percent. This global pricing adjustment will compensate for the increased cost of sourcing crude fish oils, which has reached an all-time high.
