Enzymotec Expands Activities in China

MORRISTOWN, N.J.Enzymotec, a biotech company and global supplier of lipid-based products, announced the opening of its Shanghai office. The new branch of Enzymotec is aimed at supporting the company's business activities in China as well as providing its existing customers with on-hand customer service.

Enzymotec develops and manufactures lipid-based biofunctional and nutraceutical ingredients and end products that are based on proprietary technologies.

"This is a significant step forward for Enzymotec, which has successfully expanded its commercial activities over the last few years," said Dr. Ariel Katz, CEO of Enzymotec.  "South East Asia in general and China in particular have become key markets for us due to the economic developments in the region. In addition, we believe maintaining a local presence is highly important and fits our global marketing strategy."

In December 2011, Enzymotec was granted an Australian patent for its Omega-sterols ingredient, a hybrid of naturally occurring phytosterols and omega-3s.
