SIOUX CITY, Iowa—GELITA proudly supports the Global Organization for EPA and DHA Omega-3s (GOED) Coalition, an omega-3 industry coalition working diligently to strengthen consumer education initiatives, awareness and advocacy to reinvigorate the fish oil category.
“As an overwhelming percentage of omega-3s are delivered via gelatine soft capsules, any shift in this market has a direct impact on GELITA," said Lara Niemann, director of marketing, GELITA. “And, although GELITA doesn't manufacture, market or use omega-3s, the success of this market is paramount to GELITA's global key business partners."
GOED cites that the recent slump in omega-3 consumption is the result of a convergence of multiple issues, including negative press in major media outlets and fewer new consumers. The organization recently launched a new website to further its campaign efforts and advance consumer education.
