GOED Expands Board of Directors

SALT LAKE CITYThe Global Organization for EPA and DHA (GOED) announced it has expanded its board of directors from eight to 14 to accommodate the associations recent membership growth.
The board includes: David Shannon, Croda (chair); Baldur Hjaltason, EPAX (vice chair); Robert Orr, Ocean Nutrition Canada (treasurer); Amanda Ruess, DSM Nutritional Products (secretary); Phillip Fass, Martek Biosciences (past chair); Carol Locke, Omega Natural Science; Kent Cipollo, Solae; Cynthia Crouch, DuPont; Hans de Wit, Marvesa; Josipa Paska, FINA; Bjorn Rene, Cognis; Harald Ronneberg, Denomega; Olav Sandnes, Marine Nutriceuticals; and Federico Tripodi, Monsanto.
"Over the last year GOED's membership has expanded to be even more representative of the rapidly changing omega-3 industry," said Adam Ismail, GOEDs executive director. "Our members include ingredient companies, manufacturers, consumer product companies and traders, and now, our board of directors reflects that diversity."
Ismail noted the expanded board has provided the association with the ability to further increase membership and expand its reach worldwide as it works to educate media, consumers and omega-3 industry companies on the latest EPA/DHA research, benefits and trends.
GOED is an association of processors, refiners, manufacturers, distributors, marketers, retailers and supporters of products containing eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) omega-3 fatty acids. The Organization's objectives are to promote and protect the category, educate consumers about the health benefits of EPA/DHA, and work with government groups, the healthcare community and the industry, while setting high standards for our business sector.
