SALT LAKE CITYThe Global Organization for EPA and DHA Omega-3 (GOED) will host the GOED Exchange on Jan. 13 and 14, 2011, in Salt Lake City. The two-day event will draw researchers, regulators and thought leaders to focus on issues and opportunities surrounding products containing eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).

The GOED Exchange is bringing together some of the brightest minds to provide multiple perspectives on the challenges, opportunities and research that impacts those in the omega-3 industry on every level," said Adam Ismail, GOEDs executive director. Our goal is for participants to walk away from the GOED Exchange with enough information to take action on the specific issues facing their businesses and to be able to help expand the omega-3 market."

Participants in the GOED Exchange will hear from speakers including Richard Carmona, M.D., M.P.H., the 17th Surgeon General of the United States; regulatory authorities from key global markets; early innovators in omega-3 research including Michael Crawford, Ph.D., William Lands, Ph.D., and Jorn Dyerberg, M.D.; key non-governmental organizations and innovators related to sustainability of omega-3 sources; top market research firms; and other leaders.

Ismail said the GOED Exchange is being designed to promote more interaction between the speakers and audience and more attendee participation, including onsite production of social media initiatives, professionally facilitated Q&A sessions and a structure focused more on discussion than presentations.
