Merck, Clover Reach Omega-3 Agreement

DARMSTADT, Germany--Merck, a German pharmaceutical company, and Clover Corp.,an Australia-based omega-3 specialist, have partnered to sign an exclusiveworldwide marketing and distribution agreement for Clover's line of omega-3polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs).

The agreement gives Clover worldwide access to the functional foods marketthrough Merck's wide reach. Clover's Melbourne, Australia plant producesproducts such as Hi-DHA powders and oils, which contain DHA (docosahexaenoicacid), a long-chain omega-3 PUFA used as a food ingredient.
