ROCKVILLE, MDPackaged Facts projects global consumer spending on EPA/DHA-fortified products will reach US$34.7 billion by 2016. The market research group published its findings in the new report, " The Global Market for EPA/DHA Omega-3 Products." The report estimates sales will post a compound annual growth rate of 6.4 percent, with North America accounting for 43 percent of sales.

The Global Organization for EPA and DHA Omega-3 (GOED) commissioned the research, which covered six categories of packaged consumer goods. Packaged Facts expects expanding public awareness of omega-3 health benefits, in addition to increased regulation, will fuel growth in the coming years.

Today, VIRGO unveiled a new program in cooperation with GOED called SupplySide Omega-3 Insights.
