Omega Protein Builds Science Center

HOUSTONOmega Protein Corp.completed construction on a health and science center, based in Reedville, Va.,to enhance production of its OmegaPure® fish oil. The center includes afood-grade fish oil processing facility with equipment to allow Omega Protein torefine, bleach, winterize and deodorize all of its available menhaden fish oilfrom the Atlantic coast. The facility includes automated packaging andrefrigerated on-site storage capacity, as well as a laboratory for research anddevelopment on omega-3 enriched foods.

This new facilitythe only fully-integrated fish oilprocessing facility in the United States completes an important strategicneed for Omega Protein because it positions us to be at the forefront of themarket for healthy omega-3 fatty acids, said Joe von Rosenberg, president andchief executive officer of Omega Protein (www.omegapure.com).
