DARTMOUTH, Nova ScotiaOcean Nutrition Canada (ONC) was among the highest scoring labs in a recent evaluation by the American Oil Chemists Society (AOCS) proficiency program. ONC earned an Honorable Mention after an evaluation of its laboratory staff and equipment.

AOCS tests proficiency in a variety of functions for labs around the world. The AOCS proficiency evaluation for fatty acids was implemented by the Global Organization for EPA and DHA Omega-3 (GOED) in 2008 to allow its members, and associated organizations, the ability to benchmark their laboratory staff and equipment. The evaluation scores labs on their accuracy in testing fish oil for levels of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) as well as freshness.

ONCs quality control lab, located at the organizations facility in Mulgrave Nova Scotia, has participated in the AOCS fatty acid evaluation since its inception.

ONC provides its customers in the dietary supplement, food ingredient and pharmaceutical sectors with its MEG-3® branded line of products created with ONCs proprietary technology. MEG-3® has been included in more than 100 billion servings of food and supplement products worldwide.
