LOS ANGELESOptiPure launchedPosinol, an emotional wellness ingredient derived from the leaves of Apocynumvenetum L., an Asian botanical commonly known asLuobuma and Chinese dogbane. The ingredient contains hyperoside, a flavonoid thought towork with naturally occurring neurotransmitters within the brain to producemental relaxation and reduce blood pressure. According to the company, an animalstudy suggested Posinol shortened the immobility time in an animal modelfor antidepressant activity.

OptiPure also introduced TriLean, a combination of threeingredients marketed for promotion of ideal body composition: GlucoTrim®, ablood sugar balancer; Clarinol, a conjugated linoleic acid (CLA); and Phase 2®, a starch neutralizer. GlucoTrim, an extract derived fromthe leaves ofLagersroemia speciosa L. isstandardized to 1- to 3-percent corosolic acid, a compound believed to activateglucose transport in fat cells and inhibit alpha-amylase secretion. Clarinol CLAhas been shown to encourage fat burning and spare lean tissue without changes indiet or activity levels. Phase 2 is an extract of white kidney bean shown toprevent alpha-amylase from converting starch into glucose.
