Orr, Carlson Honored at GOED Exchange 2012

Robert Orr and the late John Carlson were presented GOED Achievement Awards at the recent GOED Exchange conference in Boston.

The Global Organization for EPA and DHA Omega-3 (GOED) honored Robert Orr, former CEO of Ocean Nutrition Canada (ONC), and the late John Carlson, owner of Carlson Labs, with GOED Achievement Awards during the GOED EXCHANGE 2012 in Boston. GOED said the award recognizes contributions to the growth of the omega-3 industry and/or contributions in helping to increase the intakes of EPA and DHA around the world.

Carson's daughters Kirsten Carlson and Carilyn Anderson were on-hand to accept the award for their father, who is considered a natural products industry pioneer and who was integral in supplying high quality vitamins and minerals for more than  45 years.

Orr has spent more than 30 years in the nutritional ingredient, marine biotech and food retailing and advertising markets, and was responsible for the start-up, financing and growth of ONC. He guided helped the company establish itself as the leading supplier of concentrated omega-3s and played an important role in establishing omega-3 industry quality standards, now known as the GOED Voluntary Monograph.

The awards presented during the GOED Exchange provide a platform to and recognize true pioneers in the industry said Adam Ismail, executive director of GOED, It honors their genius and dedication to a field that truly benefits humanity. GOED Exchange hosted 225 attendees and covered the latest information on the issues, trends, science and developments that impact the worldwide EPA and DHA omega-3 industry.
