Valensa ~ Verilla Perilla Seed Extract

ORLANDO, Fla.Valensa debuted its supercritical CO₂ perilla seed extract line, including Verilla Perilla Seed Extract and VerillaMax Perilla Seed Flour. The new products boast a high alpha linolenic acid (ALA) omega-3 content, and offer an alternative to chia. Perilla seed CO₂ extract has approximately 50- to 60-percent ALA content, and a 6:1 ratio of omega-3 to omega-6 fatty acids. Valensa's perilla seed extract is positioned for oils, softgels, capsules and gummies, while the flour is available for functional foods.

Valensa president and CEO Rudi E. Moerck, Ph.D., said the ingredients will respond to growing interest in plant-based omega-3s.
