PÄHL, GermanyThe Aenova Group opened a new integrated production facility to enable the company to improved processes and increase production efficiency. The new tablet production line will open at the end of September. An opening ceremony for the new production facility will be held on Sept. 29, 2011, with guests consisting of a selected group of customers and journalists.

The Aenova Group said improving the efficiency of the production processes will allow for reduced processing times and increase production volumes. As a result, the company said its annual production capacity has risen by 2 billion tablets. Until now, all the Aenova plants together produced 10 billion tablets per year. The ideal batch size for pharmaceutical products in the new facility is around 3,000 kg. It can also be used to manufacture large volumes of dietary supplements, the company noted.

The company also invested in its plant in Tittmoning, Germany, which is its center for powder technology and where Aenova produces granules, tablets, film-coated tablets and dragées, and provides its customers with individual packaging solutions. The investment in the Tittmoning site will increase its importance in the long term. As part of the expansion process, 40 new jobs have been created for skilled workers. The Aenova Group has hired around 65 new employees over the last 12 months.

Additionally, Aenova is leasing a tablet manufacturing site in Lyon, France, which allowed the company to enter the U.S. market for tablet products and strengthen its presence in France.
