Budweiser Project 12 Returns With 3 New Brews

ST. LOUISBudweiser's Project 12, the platform responsible for the introduction of Budweiser Black Crown,  is back with three new beers named for the ZIP codes where the beers were brewed, beginning Oct. 28.

The brews were introduced to consumers at a sampling event earlier this year at the Budweiser Made in America Music Festival, Aug. 31. As with all Budweiser brews, these were created using the yeast first used by Adolphus Busch in 1876 to create Budweiser's signature taste.  

The new small-batch brews include: Batch 23185 (Williamsburg, Va.), Batch 43229 (Columbus, Ohio) and Batch 94534 (Fairfield, Calif.). Brews were created using flavors associated with the regions, including North Pacific hop varieties, including Cascade and Palisade, for Batch 94534, and chocolate and caramel malts for an auburn appearance for Batch 43229.

"Each of the three beers has a distinct taste with a common thread," said Pete Kraemer, head brewmaster, Anheuser-Busch.  "Project 12 is all about showcasing brewing creativity and credentials, and making beer drinkers happy."

After last year's Project 12 brews launched, a surge of positive feedback led Budweiser to introduce Budweiser Black Crown, originally known as Batch 91406, as a permanent extension to the Budweiser brand.

Earlier this year, Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev), owners of Budweiser, finalized a $20.1 billion cash deal to acquire full control of Grupo Modelo S.A.B. de C.V., the maker of Corona Extra beer.
