LENEXA, Kan.During GMP audits at several of its manufacturing and distribution facilities, Caravan Ingredients, Inc., earned a total of five superior ratings from the American Institute of Baking (AIB).

"Caravan Ingredients is very pleased with our 2010 AIB ratings," said Jeff Ottarson, Director of Quality at Caravan Ingredients.  "This is a clear signal that our quality culture has shifted in a positive direction to meet the challenge of todays regulatory and customer expectations. I view this success as the foundation to the next level when we certify our manufacturing facilities to a Global Food Safety Initiative in 2011."

The GMP Inspection evaluated the adequacy of operational methods and personnel practices, maintenance for food safety, cleaning practices, integrated pest management and adequacy of prerequisite and food safety programs; the superior rating is the highest that can be attained. According to AIB International, scoring high on this audit shows that a supplier complies with food safety regulations and is committed to providing safe, high quality food products to consumers.
