Cognis is among the first companies to meet FDA's requirements for good manufacturing practices (GMPs), after it earned registration through NSF International’s Dietary Supplement Certification program for natural vitamin E, phytosterols and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA). Cognis successfully met all of the GMP program requirements for its production facilities in Kankakee, Illinois and Illertissen, Germany. NSF conducted an intensive audit of each plant to verify compliance with the newly enacted dietary supplement GMPs and will conduct periodic audits at the Cognis facilities to ensure ongoing compliance.
