Contaminated Supplements Recalled

WASHINGTON—Undeclared drug ingredients forced two manufacturers to conduct immediate recalls of certain dietary supplements, NEWSInferno reported. FDA announced the voluntary recalls in both cases of the adulterated products. Balanced Health Products is recalling certain lots of its Starcaps Diet System supplements, after the prescription diuretic Bumetanide was found at levels of 0.8 mg/capsule. In the second recall, Fashion Sanctuary is recalling all lots of its Zhen De Shou Fat Loss Capsules after the company was informed FDA tests showed the presence of undeclared sibutramine, a pharma appetite suppressant.
