Dole Fresh Vegetables Launches SafetyChain for Food

SAN RAFAEL, Calif.Dole Fresh Vegetables recently partnered with SafetyChain Software to launch SafetyChain for Food, a fresh approach to its food-safety initiatives through the management and promotion of safety and quality compliance at all points in a consumable goods supply chain.

Additionally, we are taking steps that prepare us for compliance with announced and anticipated FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) rules."

Doles current and continued phases include using SafetyChain for Food to proactively ensure supplier compliance in the fieldpre-harvest, during harvest and post-harvestfor all food safety requirements; conduct immediate food-safety assessments from data sent via mobile devices with real-time alerts when corrective actions are required; respond to regulatory, non-regulatory and customer audits on demand"; and have real-time food-safety traceability access to the electronic paper chain" for mock and potential withdrawals and recalls.
