LONG BEACH, Calif.—BI Nutraceuticals’ ginseng extract partner, Hongjiu Biotech, was awarded NSF International GMP (good manufacturing practices) registration. NSF conducted a thorough audit of Hongjiu's manufacturing processes, sanitation standards, pest control methods, personnel training, product testing practices and standard operating procedures and verified they met with their stringent GMP criteria. BI is currently the exclusive North American distributor for Hongjiu's line of panax ginseng extracts.
"BI partnered with Hongjiu because of the company's unwavering dedication to operating all facets of their business in adherence to the strictest quality control standards, and this GMP certification from NSF International further underscores that commitment," stated Walter Postelwait, vice president of sales and marketing, BI Nutraceuticals.
Hongjiu operates its own pesticide-free, certified organic ginseng farms, which allows them complete control over the quality of their ginseng extracts at every stage from seed to cultivation to processing. The company's extraction facility is the largest and most advanced in Northeast China and is ISO 22000, HACCP, GMP, GAP, kosher, halal and now GMP certified. In order to ensure continued compliance to their GMP standards, NSF will conduct periodic audits of Hongjiu's facilities.
