Mizkan Americas Acquires Border Foods

MT. PROSPECT, Ill.Condiment manufacturer Mizkan Americas on May 12 announced the acquisition of Border Foods® Inc., one of the nations oldest and established processor of green chile, jalapeño and tomatillo peppers and manufacturer of enchilada sauces for branded and private label markets.

The acquisition of Deming, N.M.-based Border Foods builds on parent company Mizkan Groups plans for global expansion of its retail, branded, food ingredients and foodservice businesses. It also follows a relationship between Mizkan as a supplier to Border Foods.

During the last five years, Mizkan has acquired the Holland House brand of cooking wines from Motts LLP, the World Harbors brand of marinades and barbeque sauces, Creole Fermentation of Louisiana and the Gourmet Specialty Division of Imperial Brands Inc.
