NSF-DBA Offers Quality Professional Training

ANN ARBOR, Mich.A new training program from NSF-DBA, United Natural Products Alliance (UNPA) and the National Center for Natural Products Research (NCNPR) at the University of Mississippi, will offer participants technical, scientific and regulatory knowledge and the skills and confidence to add significant value to their organizations, according to the NSF International Company.

The program The Dietary Supplement Quality Professional Training" (DSQP) is designed for dietary supplement quality and technical professionals. Starting in February 2011, the training will be offered in Ann Arbor, MI; Salt Lake City; and Oxford, MS.

Based on the requirements set forth in the current GMPs (good manufacturing practices) in manufacturing, packaging, labeling or holding operations for dietary supplements (21 CFR 111), the DSQP Training consists of a series of 12 modules offered over a one-year period. They are designed to provide the knowledge and skills expected of todays dietary supplement quality and technical professional. Each module consists of a mix of lectures and group exercises, maximizing the learning for the participants. The module series follows:

  • 21 CFR 111 GMP Overview

  • Standard Operating Procedures and Record keeping for Compliance to 21 CFR 111

  • Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Inspection Readiness

  • CAPA (Corrective Action) Management

  • Testing Method Selection, Specification Setting and Equipment Qualification

  • Stability Program Development

  • Vendor Qualification and Audit Training

  • Cleaning and Control of Cross-contamination

  • Process Definition and Control; Facility/Utilities Design and Monitoring

  • Risk Assessment and Risk Management

  • Staff Recruitment and Internal Training Development

  • International Regulatory Requirements for Dietary Supplements

NSF-DBA encourages quality leaders and technical professionals from quality, manufacturing, engineering, regulatory affairs and research and development (R&D) to enroll in the course. NSF-DBA also encourages companies to consider in-house training as this allows for customization.
