OMB Signs Off on Supplement GMPs

WASHINGTON--After months of being on the backburner, current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) for dietary supplementshave been signed off by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). According toits Web site (www.whitehouse.gov/omb/library/OMBREGSC.html#HHS),the department approved the cGMPs Jan. 16.

A spokesperson from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)confirmed the cGMPs had finally passed OMB review, and in the next few weeks thecGMPs would be hitting the Federal Register as a proposed rule for publiccomment. OMB received the cGMPs on Oct. 4, 2002.
