KEARNEY, N.J.Alix Technologies Inc., a division of Pharmachem Laboratories, acquired AmeriFill, a Salt Lake City-based contract manufacturer, in mid-March, and will operate the liquid and cosmetics processing facility as part of the Alix Technologies organization. Pharmachem originally established Alix Technologies in February 2009 with the purchase of a 130,000-square-foot liquid bottling facility near Dallas, with capabilities for processing and packaging beverage and personal care products. The new Salt Lake City facility adds increased capacity in high-volume liquids ranging in viscosity, hot and cold fill, and plastic or glass packaging configurations.

The purchase of the 100,000-square-foot cGMP [good manufacturing practice] facility will provide additional capacity for our liquids business and enable us to enter new markets, said Peter Hafermann, president of Alix Technologies. With the addition of the Salt Lake City facility we now have the capability of processing a full complement of liquids including: fortified beverages, super juices, cosmetics, personal care and household products.
