BLAUVELT, N.Y.RFI acquired Alta Quality Nutrition, a Modesto, CA-based  contract manufacturer that supplies toll processing and turn-key manufacturing, product development and raw materials to the dietary supplement and food industries.  Dave Ackerman, president and CEO of Alta, will become a member of RFIs executive team and will spearhead business development on the West Coast.

Alta offers numerous packaging options such as bottling, canning and pouching. The Modesto facility has dry product processing capabilities including custom blending, grinding, milling and capsule and tablet production.  The entire facility is organic, kosher and AIB certified.

This new plant joins the manufacturing sites RFI has in New York and Colorado. Jeff Wuagneux, president and CEO of RFI, said adding Alta's plant fulfills the company's strategic plan for its U.S.-based manufacturing capabilities.  "It also solidifies our vertical-integration strategy by allowing us to better service our customers on the West Coast," Wuagneux said. "With this new location in California, we now have additional versatile blending, manufacturing and packaging options to offer, along with our existing facilities. We also gain David Ackerman and his team who will continue to help us grow RFI for years to come."

Ackerman  added, My team is excited about joining forces with RFI and taking our Modesto facility to an even higher level. Our customers will gain instant access to a broader spectrum of services, and I personally look forward to working and helping the RFI team continue its successful growth."

Established in 1989, RFI offers natural and organic ingredients including polyphenols and green foods using its Field to Formula® model.
