RoundTable Healthcare Partners Acquires Santa Cruz Nutritionals

LAKE FOREST, Ill.Santa Cruz Nutritionals (SCN), a manufacturer of gummy-based vitamins, minerals and supplements, is under new ownership: RoundTable Healthcare Partners, a private equity firm.

RoundTable acquired the Santa Cruz, Calif.-based company from Levine Leichtman Capital Partners, an independent investment firm. The purchase price was not disclosed.

SCN's executives Mike Westhusing (CEO) and Randy Bridges (chief financial officer and chief operating officer) will continue to lead the company, RoundTable said. Lester Knight, a founding partner and co-chairman of RoundTable, will serve on SCN's board.

SCN was founded in 1968 under the name Harmony Foods by two local surfers and was among the first businesses to produce gummy bears, according to the company's website. Its sales now top $100 million, David Koo, a senior partner with RoundTable, told the Santa Cruz Sentinel.
