SAN JOSE, Calif. Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. introduced Thermo Scientific Accucore XL columns for high-performance liquid chromatography. Thermo Fisher will debut the columns at the International Symposium on Chromatography 2012 in Toruń, Poland.

The columns are designed to increase the performance of conventional HPLC separations without modifying the instruments or methods. The product uses Core Enhanced Technology with 4 µm solid core particles, and the columns feature solid core particles, particle diameter control and advanced bonding technology. Thermo Fisher said the Accucore XL HPLA column range will help increase sensitivity, resolution and robustness compared to conventional 3 and 5 µm HPLC columns.

In June, Thermo Fisher debuted the Thermo Scientific UltiMate 3000 XRS UHPLC system for solvent delivery and sample handling.
