LONG BEACH, Calif.Wellington Foods Inc., a nutritional supplement manufacturer, received the Natural Products Association (NPA) Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Certification for the dietary supplement industry. In compliance with the latest GMP regulations governing the industry, Wellington Foods earned the certification through an independent audit by NPA, a non-profit organization that represents retailers, manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors of natural products. The company earned an A compliance rating from the NPA.

Wellington Foods understands that our partners rely upon us to ensure they are compliant throughout every part of the manufacturing process, and we are honored to have received the stamp of approval from the Natural Products Association, said Tony Harnack, president of Wellington Foods. The NPA GMP certification provides one more layer of assurance to our partners that their products are being manufactured with the highest level of purity and quality control.

The NPAs GMP certification signifies that Wellington Foods has met the GMP standards which are designed to assure dietary supplement product integrity and quality. The NPA established the third-Party Certification Program to support dietary supplement manufacturers in evaluating their compliance with the regulations set forth by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to govern the industry. The regulations detail how manufacturing processes are defined and controlled and any changes to the process are evaluated. The NPA GMP standards are in-line with the FDAs GMP guidelines established under regulation 21 CFR 111.
