IBBENBÜREN, GermanyWiewelhove GmbH invested in L.B. Bohles BFS 240 multi-use fluid bed system to expand its pharmaceutical contract manufacturing  services. L.B. Bohle said its BFS 240 offers high-efficiency granulating and drying, compact design and one-step cleaning.

Michael Beyer, director of production and engineering at Wiewelhove  said, We wanted a system that enabled increased flexibility with a broader range of functionality such as the ability to pelletize products in addition to drying. Additionally, the new system had to fit in the limited available floor space. Our goal was to perfectly integrate the new system into the existing environment."

The BFS 240 features tangential technology for drying, granulating, layering and coating applications; online moisture detection and particle size measurement with NIR technology; and contained discharging without process bowl removal. It is also 12-bar pressure shock-resistant, offers vacuum charging, and provides intuitive software for easy training and usage.

L.B. Bohle also recently introduced its LM 40 Laboratory Blender for operators blending nutraceutical products. The LM 40 employs advanced NIR technology in order to generate highly reproducible, accurate online results.
