ABC Expands Advisory Board

AUSTIN, Texas--The American Botanical Council (ABC) added 13 new members to its advisory board, including experts in botany, ethnobotany, analytical chemistry, clinical medicine, pharmacology, quality control and toxicology, bringing the total number of expert advisors to 64. The advisory board members participate in the peer review process of ABC publications, and assist in determining policies and activities at ABC (www.herbalgram.org). The new members are Ezra Bejar, Ph.D., Herbalife International; Josef Brinckmann, Traditional Medicinals Inc.; Trish Flaster, M.S., Botanical Liaisons LLC; Charlotte Gyllenhaal, Ph.D., College of Pharmacy, University of Illinois, Chicago; Ken Jones, Armana Research Inc.; Edward Kennelly, Ph.D., Lehman College, City University of New York; Ikhlas Khan, Ph.D., National Center for Natural Products Research, University of Mississippi; Richard Kingston, Pharm.D., National Center for Dietary Supplement Safety, University of Minnesota; Roberta Lee, M.D., Beth Israel Medical Center, New York; Martha Libster, Ph.D., R.N., Purdue University; Marc S. Micozzi, M.D., Ph.D., Policy Institute for Integrative Medicine; Holly Shimizu, U.S. Botanic Garden; and Jacqueline Wootton, M.Ed., Alternative Medicine Foundation Inc.
