Ajinomoto Builds New Nucleotide Seasoning Factory

KAMPHAENG HET, ThailandAjinomotoCo. Inc. built a new nucleotide seasoning factory (its first outside Japan) inThailand with a production capacity of 3,000 tons per year. The site will act asa global export base and supply products to various countries; operations in Japan will increase production efficiency byreducing the variety of items produced, according to Ajinomoto (www.ajinomoto.com).The location was chosen partly because of its ability to procure tapioca starch,a main ingredient in nucleotide seasonings used to flavor soups, seasoning mixesand other processed foods.
