Asahi Godo Distributes Phase 2 Carb Controller in Japan

KEARNY, N.J.—Pharmachem Laboratories Inc.’s Phase 2 Carb Controller ingredient (formerly known as Phaseolamin in Japan) will be distributed exclusively in Japan by Asahi Godo Inc.

“Phase 2 Carb Controller is the best-selling carb control ingredient in the world, and Asahi Godo is going to take the ingredient to the next level of sales in Japan,” said Mitch Skop, Pharmachem’s director of new product development.

“Willy Tan, Asia Executive Director of Sales, Phase 2, said, “Asahi Godo has a strong record of growth as a distributor of branded ingredients over the last decade. We believe it has the capability to help us reach our aggressive sales objectives for Phase 2.”

Asahi Godo was established in 1966 with headquarters in Kyoto and offices in Tokyo, Japan and Seoul, Korea, as well as a GMP packaging factory in Shizuoka, Japan. During the past 12 years, the company has seen extensive growth as a distributor of nutritional raw materials and branded ingredients. Asahi Godo currently employs 50 full-time staff and has annual sales in the $50 million range.

Pharmachem Laboratories, Inc., Kearny, NJ, develops, manufactures and supplies a variety of nutritional ingredients to the dietary supplement and food industries. It processes application-specific ingredients including custom extraction, fractionation, fermentation, drying, liquid-to-powder conversion, granulation, agglomeration, blending, nutrient fortification and ready-to-drink powders.
