Ben Stein to Give Keynote Addressat SupplySide West
LAS VEGAS--Virgo Publishing announced that actor, economist and writer Ben Stein will deliver the keynote address at SupplySide West, which will be held here Nov. 28 to 30 at the Venetian.
Stein, probably most recognized for his role in Ferris Bueller's Day Off as the teacher with the monotone voice, now hosts the game show "Win Ben Stein's Money" on Comedy Central. Stein started his career working as a lawyer and speechwriter in the Nixon and Ford administrations, although he claims he did not write the infamous line, "I am not a crook." He has worked as a poverty lawyer in New Haven and Washington, D.C., and as a trial lawyer at the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). In addition, Stein has written 16 books and has been a writer for The Wall Street Journal, Barron's and The Washington Post.
The keynote address is sponsored by Degussa BioActives, a supplier of lipids, lecithin, extracts and protein-derived nutritional ingredients. "We are thrilled to bring Ben Stein's witty insight on economics, law and politics to SupplySide," said Harlee Sorkin, vice president of Degussa BioActives. "His humorous delivery may help to ease the pain of a struggling economy. He might even challenge the intellect of our industry's brightest individuals."
The keynote is set for 11 a.m. on Nov. 29, and the SupplySide West exhibit hall will open immediately following the address. More information is available on the show's Web site (www.supplysideshow.com), or by calling Virgo Publishing at (480) 990-1101.
