CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—Boots Centre for Innovation, a not-for-profit division of Alliance Boots, will host a two-day innovation event discussing trends and seeking new ideas that may result in products stocking the shelves of Boots’ European retail network of 3,200 health and beauty stores. According to the company, on Dec. 10 and 11, it will host a half-day conference on health and beauty trends, followed by pre-set appointments with American entrepreneurs interested in pitching Boots on their health care technologies and products. Among the 10 key areas of consumer interest that Boots has identified are new ways to diagnose and treat health issues, supporting positive aging, and minimizing the complications of living with chronic conditions.

Ged O’Shea, managing director, Boots Centre for Innovation, said: “There are some amazing products and technologies out there, and our aim is to stimulate the development of new applications that can benefit the general public—as well as providing business opportunities for their inventors. We believe there are market opportunities for new solutions across the health care spectrum, from diagnostic devices to pain relief. We offer entrepreneurs a unique combination of advice, funding and a route to market for their inventions. If their researchers have innovative ideas, we’d like to work with them to develop the next generation of health and beauty products.”

The event will be hosted at the British Consulate General in Cambridge, and is free to attend. More information is available online or via e-mail.
