NEW YORK & ROSEMONT, Ill.-- Buzzback Market Research (www.buzzback.com) and Dairy Management Inc. (www.dairyinfo.com) released results of a survey on current consumer attitudes to milk. The report, titled "The Changes in U.S. Milk Consumption/New Milk Products Study," details consumption and purchase patterns of milk and milk-derived products, based on data collected from 900 consumers. The results are categorized by age, gender and presence of children under 18 in households.

Major findings of the study include:

Two-thirds of respondents drink milk at least three times a week; 42 percent claim to drink milk at least once a day. Survey participants cited health benefits and/or taste as the top reasons for drinking milk.Twenty percent of consumers surveyed use flavored milk; 85 percent prefer chocolate, two-thirds prefer vanilla, and less than 10 percent find mango, tea and/or green tea flavors appealing.

"With this specific beverage-milk survey conducted by BuzzBack, we were able to find out what consumers are looking for in beverages, if they are milk users and what attributes are appealing to them," said Donna Berry, product development editorof Dairy Foods magazine.
