MINNEAPOLIS—Cargill Inc. received the Frost & Sullivan 2006 Global Excellence in Growth Strategy Leadership of the Year Award in recognition of Cargill’s growth strategies to increase its market share in the global lecithin market. Among the company’s moves has been investment in a division handling only lecithin products, including development of a highly trained management, sales and applications team, as well as the strategic acquisition of Degussa’s Food Ingredients Business. In addition, Cargill (www.cargill.com) developed a specialized fluid lecithin manufacturing technology using a patented membrane separation process; the lecithin products produced through the system are clear and transparent, and are produced at a low temperature without any chemicals.
